Jump Ball Starting Position

Non-Tosser straddles the division line tableside with hand raised prepared to start the clock and move in the direction of the ball and become Lead . The administering official tosses ball to a height greater than either of them can jump, holds position, waits for players to clear the center of the court, then moves to the Trail position. Non-Tosser Prepared to Become the Lead (movement right)

Non-Tosser moves with the ball to the right and becomes Lead . Tosser , after delaying, becomes Trail and ensures the alternating possession arrow, at the table, is set in the correct direction.
