The Center Initiates Rotation

When pressure is applied in frontcourt on the Center’s sideline, between the 3-point arc and division line, the Center may move for maximum coverage. Although the Lead has closed down, the Center by moving from an inside out to a topside position, initiates a rotation. The Lead crosses basketline to ballside. Rotation Initiated Not Completed

The position of the ball keys a rotation. If the Lead has initiated a rotation and before the Lead has completed the rotation the ball reverses back to the Lead’s side of the basketline, there is a quick try or a drive to the basket, the Lead shall “back out” and not move to the C position. If a try is attempted while the Lead is in the lane, the Lead should return to B position side of lane and get as deep and wide as possible to observe rebound action.
